Focusoninfinity.nl is where I upload my astrophotography. Intrigued by space as a child, the interest in the universe slumbered a few decades, but entered a new stage a few years ago standing under clear skies in the French Alps during new moon. The beauty of the night sky was overwhelming and from that moment on I was hooked, looking up when it’s dark whenever and wherever I could. Using only the naked eye, a pair of binoculars or a telescope, the night sky never gets boring.
I wanted to share my experience, but found that words were not sufficient to describe what I saw. Enter astrophotography! I started with a second hand stock DSLR, 50mm lens and a startracker on tripod. That setup is still in use today, but I’ve added a few more cameras, telescopes and mounts, covering a focal range from 11mm (which is pretty widefield, useful for Milkyway photos) to 2800mm (which is absurdly narrow, useful for galaxies and planetary nebulas).
Hopefully I’ll be able to share some of my enthusiasm for the night sky through my photos. Welcome to Focusoninfinity.nl! – Dennis Rutten
